Encourage your students to explore the wonders of STEM, ocean life, and participate in this exciting competition. It's not just about winning prizes; it's an opportunity for them to showcase their creativity and passion for science and the oceanlife of Florida.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Determine the Applicant's Group
Ages 4-6: Mini Wave Makers
Highlight your favorite, most intriguing fact or finding about Florida's ocean and/or wildlife in a creative 1 minute video.
Share your discovery and inspire others to appreciate the wonders of Florida's natural world. At the end of the video state, "My name is (your name) and I am a Wave Maker."
Ages 7-10: Junior Wave Makers
Ages 11-13: Rising Wave Makers
Ages 14-18: Wave Maker Entrepreneurs
2. Identify the Applicant's Deliverable, Topic, Research, and Report
Identify ONE topic that interests the applicant the most within the competition theme:
marine biology, ocean sustainability, and wild Florida!
3. Complete and Submit the Applicant's Video by

Age Group: Kids Ages 4 - 18 in Florida
Grand Prize: One student will win a $5,000 educational scholarship.
School Prize: The school with the most active participation can apply for a $10K STEM education grant.
Submission Deadline: April 19th, 2024
Teachers or parents should submit individual videos of their students with parent/guardian permission. Teachers should provide overall guidance to their students.
Categories: 4 different age groups; reference site for deliverables.
Top 100 Finalists:
Receive a free ticket to attend the Wave Makers Kids Ocean Symposium.
The symposium features Dr. Sylvia Earle, Florida's own oceanographer and National Geographic Explorer in Residence.
Symposium Date: Saturday, April 27, 2024; held at the Cox Science Center, West Palm Beach.
